The Cottage Gillamoor is a beautiful place to spend some time in the North Yorkshire Moors. Well placed in a gorgeous little village I couldn't have asked for more. Claire's communication was excellent with plenty of messages back and forward before our arrival with details of local attractions and what to expect. We missed each other on our first night as we were out sampling the local pub's food but the effort of coming to visit us and make sure we had settled in was appreciated. The cottage was well equipped, very clean and provided a wonderful place to visit. I hope to return in the winter time to make use of that log burner!! The bottle of wine, coffee and biscuits were a lovely gift for my arrival and much appreciated.

We stayed for two nights and very much enjoyed it. The cottage has a very well equipped kitchen if you wish to cook, otherwise there is a pub just round the corned that serves excellent food.
The cottage was very clean and towels and bed linen was provided.
It was in a very quiet location, and parking was available right outside the front door.

I stayed here for Christmas with my son... we were taken back with the beauty of the place when we arrived... it has all the traditional cottage beams, fire etc whilst being furnished and decorated with a nice modern touch... the cottage was warm, lit with Christmas lights and tastefully decorated for Christmas when we arrived... Claire and Mark even went as far as leaving little gifts under the tree... the cottage is equipped with everything you will need, especially in the
kitchen...there was a lovely little welcome basket and a
guide to the area. The area is quaint a beautiful. . The view by the church is quite breath taking. We went to the local pub on Christmas eve, and met neighbours who live in the village and also a family who were visiting from Africa.. everyone was friendly and welcoming. . A neighbour even brought us soup and a box of lager on Christmas day... highly recommend this place.. you really cannot go wrong at the cottage Gillamoor. . We have some special memories at this truly gorgeous cottage :)

Never been to Gillamoor before and was pleasantly surprised. Its perfect for a quiet get away, but only a few miles to so many tourist attractions. eg. Helmsley castle, Ryedale Folk Museum and Dalby forest to name but a few. The cottage has a warm welcome as soon as you walk through the door. Its well equipped and has every you need including logs for the woodburner which we took advantage of. The owners have thought of everything, from maps, free passes to Dalby forest and a lovely hamper filled with wine and other goodies. Look forward to going back in the summer.
